Understanding your data
What is Health Score?
Your Health Score is a single number from 0 to 100 that summarises how healthy and engaged your Instagram audience is. It's calculated entirely in your browser from the export you uploaded.
What goes into the score
The score is a weighted blend of three signals:
- Follower-to-following ratio (40%) — how many people follow you compared to how many you follow. A balanced or follower-heavy account scores higher than one that follows far more people than follow back.
- Follow-back rate (35%) — the share of accounts you follow that follow you back. A high follow-back rate signals genuine, mutual connections.
- Growth trend (25%) — how your following changes between uploads. Steady growth lifts your score; a shrinking audience lowers it. You'll see this component once you've uploaded at least twice.
Score bands
- 80–100 — Healthy: a well-balanced, engaged audience.
- 60–79 — Good: solid, with a little room to tidy up.
- 40–59 — Fair: worth reviewing who isn't following you back.
- 0–39 — Needs attention: a large gap between following and followers.
Tracking it over time
Every time you upload a new export, UnfollowScout compares it to your previous one and shows the change, for example "Improved from 56 to 62 📈". Change tracking over time is available on the Creator and Pro plans.
Your Health Score is guidance, not a grade — the goal is a real, engaged audience, not a perfect number.
