Using UnfollowScout
Can I undo unfollows?
No — an unfollow can't be undone, and that's true of every tool, not just UnfollowScout. Instagram has no "undo" for unfollowing. If you change your mind, you'd have to follow the account again manually, and they'd need to accept if their account is private.
UnfollowScout doesn't unfollow for you
To be clear about what actually happens: UnfollowScout only shows you who isn't following you back. It never touches your Instagram account and never unfollows anyone. The decision — and the action — is always yours, done manually in the Instagram app.
Unfollow safely
- Review before you act. Reveal a name, open the profile, and check before unfollowing. Some accounts you follow on purpose even though they don't follow back (brands, friends, creators).
- Go at a steady pace. Because you're unfollowing manually in Instagram, there's no automation risk — but there's also no rush.
- Re-upload periodically. Instagram exports are a snapshot in time. Upload a fresh export every few weeks to see who's changed and to track your Health Score.
Keep a record first
If you want a record of who you unfollowed, reveal and note the names before you act — or, on Pro, export your non-follower list to CSV first. Once you unfollow in Instagram, the only way back is to follow the account again yourself.
